MA Geography Education

This is the unofficial site of the MA in Geography Education (MA GeogEd), at the Institute of Education, University of London. Please note that this site is not part of the IOE official website.

Educational studies is a large field of research endeavour. It is a highly contested and debated field.

A specialist sub-field of education studies is geography education. But where can you study this? Where can you find out about what has been written in the field, what research has been done and what the big issues are? How can you get involved and perhaps even do some research yourself?

The MA Geography Education at the Institute of Education is one of the few place you can do this. It is tailor made for geography teachers. You can study this MA from anywhere in the UK.

In fact, you can study it from virtually anywhere in the world.

But why would you want to do that?

Click on tesimonials. You will see that participants have all sorts of reasons. These can be summarized as:

· The opportunity to feed your passion and enthusiasm with others of a like mind.

· The possibility of improving you knowledge and skills as a practitioner in this important niche. This could even place you well as a teacher trainer and mentor.

· The probability that you can use the academic study as a basis for demonstrating your leadership capacity – as a subject leader, but also more generally as a curriculum leader and whole school leader.
